Healthy Body, Healthy Mind

The Mind and Body are often thought to be two distinct entities, but mental health and physical health should not be thought of as being separate. Poor physical health can increase the possibility of developing mental health problems, just as poor mental health can negatively impact physical health.

At Central Minds, we have highly skilled therapists who are trained in traditional physiotherapy and complementary therapies. They use holistic, integrated approaches to dealing with ailments and conditions.

Infants, children, adults, the elderly, amateur and elite sports persons and pregnant women can benefit from this integrative approach. It is particularly useful if you have a chronic or recurrent condition that is unresponsive or has responded poorly or temporarily to direct treatment modalities.

By taking an integrated approach, our therapists will be able to determine whether your symptoms are a result of a series of chain reactions or compensations that are taking place elsewhere in your body. For example, knee pain can often be caused by an old ankle sprain or restricted movement at the hips or headaches can often stem from a stiff neck.

By addressing the root cause of the problem, you are less likely to experience a relapse in your condition or injury and are more likely to be able to fully enjoy your normal activities of daily life. Understanding of the strong connections between different body parts, as well as the uniqueness of every individual and his/her condition are the keys to the success of the treatment program.

Hear What They Say

“Wendy is an amazing physiotherapist! She is very thorough and takes her time while working on the body to release tension or work on realignment. I love her sessions because she is really there to treat you and not like other therapists who leave you hooked up on a machine. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs to work on shoulder tension, migraines and lower back pain. She is wonderful!”

“I went to Victoria to resolve some acute back pain, and some chronic knee pain and she was fantastic. Both were resolved in a matter of 3-5 sessions. When I injured my shoulder shortly after, I went back to her and was really pleased with the results. She was extremely attentive and really invested in ensuring she understood the history of the injury and all the ways my movement was being hindered. I really felt I was in good hands. I had never tried Bowen therapy before but definitely recommend it!”
“Wendy was considerate and professional; she really listened to my issue and the history of it to ensure she could tailor her treatment appropriately. I had noticeable improvement in my injury following my treatment with her. Would definitely return in the future.”
“I started seeing Victoria out of pure curiosity and also because I was experiencing lingering pain in my shoulder that had not gone away for 2-3 months. I was working on mobility as well as getting massage therapy but the progress was slow and frustrating, which meant any form of training overhead was virtually nonexistent and impossible. After merely 3 sessions, Victoria was able to help get my shoulder back in working condition and I’ve been able to train and compete lifting overhead with no issues with mobility. She also unlocked my ability to engage my lats, which is something I have not been able to do and with that, I’ve been seeing improvements in form and technique while working out. Definitely couldn’t have done it without her!”

Central Minds, does not accept direct billing from insurance companies. You would have to pay for your session directly and then have your insurance company reimburse you for the payment. Our therapists are happy to fill out any forms that your insurance company provides you with or provide you with a diagnosis on the paid receipt, which can be used to claim from your Insurance company.

Please check with your insurance carrier if a referral letter from a general practitioner/primary doctor is needed for reimbursement.

Craniosacral therapy is a non-invasive, gentle, applied healing technique that concentrates on a wave-like rhythmic pulse that passes through the whole body. This is a method that emphasizes the role of musculoskeletal system in health & disease.

In this therapy, the physiotherapist makes light contact with gentle finger pressure at selected points near the head, torso, feet and knees to note the observations at selected points and in the craniosacral system (the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord).

The aim of CST is to get rid of limitations in the body to improve the functioning of the central nervous system as this is the root cause of many structural and spinal disparities.
