Back pain is a common health issue that affects people of any age for different reasons. It can occur when the spine is stressed by injury, poor posture, disease, wear and tear, or poor body mechanisms. Many individuals suffer from back pain as a result of compensation of other parts of the body, such as an old ankle sprain, past knee injuries or stiffness in the hip joint.
Why Central Minds
Whether you have an acute knee injury or a long standing issue, degenerative problems, or simply find that our haven’t experienced any relief with standard conventional treatments, orthotics or anti-inflammatory medications, our physical therapists will work with you to find ad treat the root cause of your knee problem. This will eventually help to reduce the chances of re-injury or returning pain.
Your individualised program may include one or a combination of the following treatments:
• Joint mobilisation (to improve range of motion of the knee)
• Soft tissue release (to reduce pain, swelling and tightness)
• Realignment of the pelvis, hip, ankle and foot joints
• Flexibility training
• Strength and endurance training
Our goal is to look beyond the symptoms, treat the root cause and achieve long lasting results.
About Wendy Lam
Wendy is a Holistic Physiotherapist with extensive training in both Hong Kong and the United States. She integrates Physiotherapy, Craniosacral Therapy, Integrative Manual Therapy, Acupuncture and other gentle and effective healing modalities to facilitate optimum recovery and healing in children and adult patients.
With her years of practice, Wendy finds that every individual needs a different “formula” or treatment protocol to help with their specific problem. Whether the pain is acute or chronic, sports, injury or posture-related, with or without numbness or referred pain, she believes that understanding the uniqueness of the individual and the interconnection of different parts of the body helps yield more desirable outcomes.
About Victoria Crowe
Victoria is a UK trained Physiotherapist, with extensive experience working in acute hospitals and outpatient settings in the UK. For the last 6 years she has worked almost exclusively in Paediatrics, particularly with infants and younger children. She has recently become the first practitioner in Hong Kong trained in McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release®, a powerful tool for treating scarring, which can be used as a stand-alone treatment, or incorporated into Bowen Therapy or Physiotherapy session.
Victoria is also trained as a Bowen Therapist and treats both adults and children with this gentle, hands-on technique. Victoria has found that an integrated approach of traditional Physiotherapy and Bowen Therapy has produced quick and long-lasting results.
